Learning about artificial intelligence can feel difficult at first especially when you are trying to study it by yourself and you don’t know where to begin because there are too many websites courses and videos online and it all gets a bit confusing and when I first became interested in AI I searched a lot and wasted time on content that didn’t help but after some trial and error I found websites that explain things clearly and actually make learning AI easier even if you are a complete beginner and in this article I will share ten websites that are free simple and helpful for anyone who wants to understand AI in 2025.
1-Google AI
Google offers its own free learning resources where you can explore the basics of artificial intelligence and machine learning and what I like is that the content is written in a friendly way and covers simple explanations and real-world examples so it’s great for beginners and people who want to learn how AI is used in real life.

2-Elements of AI
This is a free online course created by the University of Helsinki and it is one of the most beginner-friendly courses I have ever tried because it teaches you what AI is how it works and how it affects the world and it doesn’t require any programming skills so anyone can join and understand the lessons easily.
3-Fast.ai
Fast.ai is for people who want to go a bit deeper but still learn in a simple and clear way and the courses are hands-on which means you get to try things yourself and work on real projects and it’s great if you already know a bit of Python and want to build AI models in a practical way.
4-Microsoft Learn – AI Fundamentals
Microsoft offers a learning path for AI beginners and it’s a great place to understand key ideas like machine learning neural networks and responsible AI and the lessons are short interactive and very easy to follow even if you are completely new to the topic.
5-OpenAI Academy
OpenAI Academy is the official learning space from OpenAI where you can explore how models like ChatGPT work how they are trained and how ideas like safety and alignment are built into AI and what I really like is that the platform offers free guided learning activities videos from AI experts and lessons made for teachers developers and curious learners.
6-Coursera – AI For Everyone
This course by Andrew Ng is very popular and the good news is you can audit it for free and it’s made for people with no coding background at all and it talks about how AI works and how it’s changing industries and it helped me see the big picture without getting lost in technical stuff.
7-MIT OpenCourseWare – Introduction to Deep Learning
If you want something from a top university this course from MIT is free and available online and it includes videos slides and assignments from real AI classes and even though the material is advanced you can still learn a lot by going slow and focusing on the main ideas.

On edX you can find free AI courses from Harvard IBM and other universities and you can learn everything from AI basics to machine learning and natural language processing and the courses are self-paced so you can study whenever you have time.

Kaggle offers small interactive lessons that teach you how to work with real data and build AI models step by step and I like how they focus on practice more than theory and you can even try the code in your browser without installing anything.

10-YouTube – Free AI Channels
YouTube has so many free videos to learn AI and some of my favorite channels are CodeBasics Two Minute Papers and Simplilearn and these creators explain AI topics in a simple way with examples and real applications and sometimes I just put on a video while having coffee and I always learn something new.
